GUSBP11
Molecular classification
Pseudogene, Long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)
01

Overview

Glucuronidase, beta pseudogene 11 (GUSBP11) is a processed human pseudogene located on chromosome 22 that is transcribed as a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA)[1][4]. The 5′ sequence of GUSBP11 shares homology with the functional glucuronidase, beta (GUSB) gene, while the 3′ sequence relates to immunoglobulin lambda-like polypeptide 1[1]. Recent evidence demonstrates that GUSBP11 is significantly upregulated in lung adenocarcinoma, where it appears to promote tumor growth, proliferation, migration, and invasion through interaction with the RNA-binding protein KHSRP, thus participating in transcriptional regulation and oncogenic processes[2]. There is no evidence that GUSBP11 encodes a functional protein or that it acts as a direct therapeutic target such as a receptor or enzyme; its primary role is as a regulatory lncRNA with cancer-associated functions.
