Overview

Growth arrest-specific 6 divergent transcript (GAS6-DT, also known as GAS6-AS2 or GAS6 antisense RNA 2) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) located near the GAS6 gene. It functions as an antisense transcript and modulator of gene expression, particularly influencing cancer cell proliferation, migration, and metabolic reprogramming. In lung adenocarcinoma, GAS6-AS1 has been identified as a tumor suppressor via inhibition of the transcription factor E2F1 and downregulation of GLUT1, reducing abnormal glucose metabolism and tumor progression[1][2]. Its dysregulation is associated with cancer prognosis, and targeting the GAS6-AS1/E2F1/GLUT1 axis is considered a potential therapeutic strategy. GAS6-DT does not encode a protein and is not itself a traditional drug target such as an enzyme, receptor, or transporter[1][2]. Its main biological relevance is in cancer biology, with roles varying by tissue context[2]. If additional data on direct drug interactions, mechanisms of action of drugs, or notable safety concerns become available, these can be added, but currently, no such therapeutic agents are noted.
