H2A clustered histone 10, pseudogene (H2AC10P) is a member of the human histone gene family classified as a pseudogene[4]. While canonical histone H2A proteins participate in the core nucleosome structure and DNA organization within chromatin, H2AC10P does not encode a functional histone protein due to its disrupted coding sequence and lack of necessary regulatory elements[2][3][4]. It represents a non-functional genomic locus, and there is no evidence that it is involved in disease processes or therapeutic drug targeting. The presence of such pseudogenes is common among histone gene clusters and reflects the evolutionary remnants of replication-dependent histone gene structures[4].
