H2A clustered histone 3, pseudogene (H2AC3P) is a non-protein-coding gene, classified as a pseudogene of the histone H2A family, and resides in a clustered region of the human genome on chromosome 6[1]. While canonical histone genes encode the core proteins (H2A, H2B, H3, H4) responsible for nucleosome structure and chromatin compaction, H2AC3P does not produce a functional histone protein and does not have a demonstrated role in chromatin biology or disease processes. Pseudogenes like H2AC3P are largely non-functional remnants or evolutionary byproducts without known therapeutic relevance[1][8].
