Overview

H2A.Q variant histone 1, pseudogene (H2AQ1P), is a pseudogene member of the H2A histone variant family, specifically classified within the short H2A (sH2A) subgroup of histone variants[1][5][9]. H2A.Q is encoded by a single pseudogene in the human genome and lacks expression in human and primate tissues[1][9]. Unlike other functional histone variants, H2A.Q is only transcribed in the testis of some non-primate mammals (such as dogs and pigs) and is not thought to play any critical or active role in human biology[1]. As a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional protein and is not considered a therapeutic target, nor does it have any known involvement in disease, function, or interaction with drugs. Therefore, the entry is "incorrect" as a therapeutic target or relevant receptor in human biomedical research[1][9][5].
