Heat shock protein 90 alpha family class B member 2, pseudogene (HSP90AB2P) is a pseudogene and does not code for a functional protein in humans[1][5][6]. While it is homologous to the heat shock protein 90 (HSP90) family—molecular chaperones critical for protein folding, cellular stress response, and cancer biology—HSP90AB2P itself does not share these chaperone functions because it is non-coding. As with some other pseudogenes, there is a possibility that its *RNA transcript* could play a regulatory role, such as modulating gene expression through small RNA pathways, but there is no evidence of direct involvement in disease, patient stratification, or as a therapeutic protein target[1][4][5]. Any references to HSP90 chaperone activity, protein stabilization, or anti-cancer drug interactions refer to other *functional* HSP90 proteins, not to HSP90AB2P[1][3][5].
