Heat shock protein 90kDa alpha, class A member 1 pseudogene is a non-protein-coding gene that is a pseudogene related to the functional HSP90AA1 gene, which encodes the chaperone protein Hsp90-alpha. Multiple pseudogenes exist for HSP90AA1 throughout the human genome, but they do not code for an active protein, have no known direct function, and are not therapeutic targets. The functional protein-coding gene is HSP90AA1, involved in protein folding and cellular stress response, and is an important cancer drug target.
