Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock protein family A (Hsp70) member 8 pseudogene 15 (HSPA8P15) is a human pseudogene, explicitly identified as a derivative of the heat shock protein 70 family member HSPA8, but it does not encode a functional protein. Pseudogenes like HSPA8P15 generally arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and contain sequence similarity to functional genes without possessing protein-coding ability or known biological activity. There is no evidence for any therapeutic relevance, receptor/enzyme/transporter activity, or disease role. Errors may arise if this entry is confused with functional HSP70 proteins, especially HSPA8, which is essential and well-studied, whereas HSPA8P15 merely represents a non-functional, non-translated genetic element.
None (not a protein or functional target)
