Heat shock protein family D (Hsp60) member 1 pseudogene 21 (HSPD1P21), also known as HSPD1-3P, is a human pseudogene that shares sequence similarity with heat shock protein 60 family genes, specifically HSPD1. Pseudogenes like HSPD1P21 do not produce functional proteins but can sometimes generate noncoding RNAs with regulatory functions, such as serving as miRNA decoys or producing siRNAs that modulate homologous mRNA stability[2][4].
