Heat shock transcription factor Y-linked 7, pseudogene (HSFY7P)

Target
HSFY7P
Molecular classification
Pseudogene

Overview

Heat shock transcription factor Y-linked 7, pseudogene (HSFY7P) is a human genomic pseudogene. Pseudogenes are nonfunctional segments of DNA that resemble known genes but typically do not encode a functional protein product, often due to mutations such as premature stop codons or frameshifts. HSFY7P is a presumed nonfunctional derivative of a member of the heat shock transcription factor Y-linked gene family. There is no evidence that HSFY7P is translated into a protein or that it has a known biological or therapeutic relevance. It does not function as a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or transcription factor, and is not considered a therapeutic target[2][4].
