Target intelligence / Profile preview
Heat shock transcription factor Y-linked 8, pseudogene (HSFY8P), is a non-functional genomic sequence derived from the heat shock transcription factor gene family located on the Y chromosome. As a pseudogene, HSFY8P does not encode a functional protein and has no known direct biological activity, interaction with drugs, or established disease relevance. Pseudogenes are typically considered "genomic fossils" and are not recognized as therapeutic targets. While other members of the heat shock transcription factor (HSF) family play key roles in stress responses and development, HSFY8P itself has not been shown to contribute any specific physiological or pathological function.
