Helper T cell activation refers to the process by which CD4+ T cells, also known as helper T cells or Th cells, become activated in response to antigen presentation. These cells are a critical component of the adaptive immune system and play a central role in orchestrating immune responses against pathogens and other foreign substances. Activation involves antigen presentation by APCs, recognition by the TCR and CD4 molecule, co-stimulation, signal transduction, and cytokine secretion leading to proliferation and differentiation into effector subtypes.
