The HLA-A*02:01-presented HPV16 E6 29-38 peptide is a specific peptide-major histocompatibility complex (pMHC) found on the surface of cells infected with Human Papillomavirus type 16 (HPV16) or HPV16-transformed malignant cells. The complex consists of the HLA-A*02:01 allele presenting a 10-amino acid epitope (TIHDIILECV) derived from the E6 oncoprotein, a primary driver of HPV-mediated oncogenesis through the degradation of the p53 tumor suppressor (PubMed: 28811044).
