Target intelligence / Profile preview
HM13 antisense RNA 1 (HM13-AS1) is a putative long non-coding antisense RNA gene transcribed from the opposite strand of the HM13 (Histocompatibility Minor 13) locus. HM13 itself encodes signal peptide peptidase, an ER-localized intramembrane protease implicated in cancer biology and immune regulation. However, HM13-AS1 has not been characterized in the literature or major RNA annotation databases. Antisense lncRNAs often modulate the expression of their sense counterparts, but there is no published evidence specifically confirming this role for HM13-AS1. No experimental studies, clinical associations, or functional data pertaining to HM13-AS1 are available, and it is not considered a drug target, biomarker, or disease gene at this time. If present in some annotation resources, its function, phenotype, and therapeutic potential remain unknown. If you require data on HM13 (the sense, protein-coding gene), signal peptide peptidase, or its cancer associations, a large body of literature exists describing its molecular functions, disease roles, and therapeutic significance. However, this is distinct from the antisense (non-coding) transcript "HM13-AS1," which has not been recognized as a clinical or experimental target.
