Target intelligence / Profile preview
HLA-C*07:02 is a specific allele of the HLA-C gene, encoding a class I MHC protein involved in immune recognition. It presents peptides to CD8+ T cells and interacts with NK cell receptors. It is particularly important in controlling CMV infection by presenting immunodominant epitopes. Individuals carrying HLA-C*07:02 have increased susceptibility to drug toxicity when treated with sulfamethoxazole/trimethoprim combination therapy. It can be used for research regarding T-cell responses or developing diagnostic reagents.
