The Human papillomavirus type 16 E6 peptide–HLA-A*02:01 complex is a molecular assembly in which a short peptide fragment of the HPV16 E6 oncoprotein—commonly TIHDIILECV (E6 29–38), or other E6-derived peptides—is loaded into the peptide-binding groove of the class I MHC molecule HLA-A*02:01. This complex is presented on the surface of infected or transformed (cancer) cells, allowing recognition by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CD8+ T cells) or TCR-mimic therapeutics, and is a major target in immunotherapy strategies for HPV16-driven malignancies[1][3][6].
