The hypoglossal motor nucleus (HMN) is a cranial nerve nucleus located within the medulla oblongata that contains the cell bodies of lower motor neurons responsible for innervating the muscles of the tongue (StatPearls: Neuroanatomy, Hypoglossal Nerve; Wikipedia: Hypoglossal nucleus).
