Immune effector cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells, macrophages, neutrophils, monocytes, and some B cells, mediate their functions through Fc receptors (FcRs). These receptors are critical for linking the humoral immune response—mediated by antibodies—to cellular immune responses. FcRs recognize the constant (Fc) region of antibodies that are bound to antigens on target cells or pathogens. Engagement of FcRs triggers downstream signaling pathways within effector cells, leading to processes like ADCC, ADCP, CDC and immunomodulation.
