Immune System (Allergen Desensitization)

Allergen desensitization is a therapeutic approach that aims to induce long-term tolerance to specific allergens by gradually exposing the immune system to increasing doses of the allergen. This process shifts the immune response away from IgE-mediated hypersensitivity toward regulatory mechanisms, involving increased production of IgG4/IgA antibodies and the induction of regulatory T cells. Ultimately, this therapy reduces or eliminates allergic reactions upon subsequent allergen exposure.
