Desensitization to Phleum pratense allergens involves modulating the immune system's response to these allergens. It aims to shift the immune response from an IgE-mediated allergic reaction toward a more tolerogenic state. Key allergenic components include Phl p 1, Phl p 2, Phl p 4, Phl p 5, and Phl p 6. Immunotherapy leads to increased IgG4 antibodies and reduced immediate hypersensitivity.
