Immunoglobulin heavy joining 2P (IGHJ2P) is a pseudogene segment located within the immunoglobulin heavy chain locus (IGH) on chromosome 14q32.33. The IGH locus contains multiple functional and nonfunctional gene segments involved in generating antibody diversity through V(D)J recombination, but IGHJ2P is pseudogenized (incapable of encoding a protein) and thus does not contribute to antibody production[1][8][10]. Pseudogenes within the IGH locus arise by truncation, mutation, or deletion and serve as markers of genomic variation rather than active biological roles. IGHJ2P is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or other canonical drug target and has no known physiological or pathological significance. The primary aliases in scientific literature are JPSI2 or Jpsi2, but these are rarely used compared to IGHJ2P. IGHJ2P is not a functional gene, therapeutic target, or biomarker; it is a pseudogene and should not be considered for receptor, enzyme, or drug target analysis[1][8][10].
