Target intelligence / Profile preview
Immunoglobulin heavy variable (II)-62-1 (IGHVII-62-1) is a human pseudogene located within the immunoglobulin heavy chain variable region gene cluster. Functional IGHV genes encode the variable region of the heavy chain of antibodies, which contribute to antigen recognition diversity in humoral immunity. However, IGHVII-62-1 is classified as a pseudogene, meaning it does not encode a functional protein product and is not known to play an active role in antibody formation or immune response. Pseudogenes such as IGHVII-62-1 can serve as markers for genetic studies of immunoglobulin gene diversity but are not themselves therapeutic targets, druggable proteins, or directly related to disease.
