Immunoglobulin heavy variable 3-62 (IGHV3-62) is classified as a pseudogene within the immunoglobulin heavy chain variable region locus. The human immunoglobulin (IG) locus contains multiple functional variable (V), diversity (D), and joining (J) gene segments that, through recombination, create the vast diversity of antibodies in the adaptive immune system. However, some V gene segments, such as IGHV3-62, are annotated as pseudogenes, meaning they are non-functional and do not produce a protein product.
