Target intelligence / Profile preview
Immunoglobulin lambda variable (I)-68 (IGLVI-68) is a pseudogene located on chromosome 22 and classified as a nonfunctional member of the immunoglobulin lambda variable gene family. Pseudogenes result from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and typically do not encode functional proteins. While the immunoglobulin lambda gene family plays a critical role in encoding the variable regions of immunoglobulin light chains, involved in antigen recognition by B cell receptors and antibodies[6][7], the IGLVI-68 gene itself has no known biological or disease relevance, is not a druggable target, and does not participate in immune function[1][2][3].
