Immunoglobulin lambda variable 1-41 (IGLV1-41) is a member of the immunoglobulin lambda variable region family and is classified as a pseudogene in humans[1][2]. Immunoglobulin lambda variable genes encode the variable region of the lambda light chain in antibodies; however, as a pseudogene, IGLV1-41 does not produce a functional protein product and does not directly participate in antibody structure or function. In the human genome, these genes are found within the immunoglobulin lambda locus on chromosome 22, and the region displays extensive genetic diversity and segmental duplications[3][4]. Pseudogenes such as IGLV1-41 arise from gene duplication events followed by mutations that disrupt normal gene function. IGLV1-41 is not a therapeutic target, nor is it involved in disease mechanisms or drug interactions. It may be referenced only in immunogenetic annotation or genomic analysis of the immunoglobulin lambda locus[2][3][4].
