Target intelligence / Profile preview
The induction of antigen-specific CD8+ T cell responses refers to the process by which naïve CD8+ T cells are activated and differentiated into effector and memory cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) that specifically recognize and eliminate cells presenting a particular antigen, typically in the context of infection, cancer, or vaccination. This is a central mechanism in adaptive immunity for targeting intracellular pathogens (such as viruses) and tumor cells.
Induction of antigen-specific CTLs to kill infected or malignant target cells.
