Inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 (None)

Target
None
Molecular classification
Enzyme, Oxidoreductase
01

Overview

Inosine-5'-monophosphate dehydrogenase 1 (IMPDH1) is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of inosine 5'-phosphate (IMP) to xanthosine 5'-phosphate (XMP), the rate-limiting step in guanine nucleotide biosynthesis. This enzyme is crucial for regulating cell growth and is a target for immunosuppressive drugs. Mutations in IMPDH1 are associated with retinitis pigmentosa type 10.
