Target intelligence / Profile preview
LSM14A, SCD6 homolog A pseudogene (LOC100129422, ENSG00000217139) is classified as a pseudogene of the LSM14A (Like-Sm protein 14A, SCD6 homolog A) gene. Pseudogenes are genomic DNA sequences similar to normal genes but typically non-functional; they often arise from gene duplication or retrotransposition events and generally do not encode functional proteins. The functional LSM14A gene is involved in mRNA processing body assembly and may have a role in mRNA regulation, but this pseudogene locus does not produce a functional protein and has no known molecular or disease function, drug interactions, or biomarker value. Therefore, it is not considered a therapeutic target.
