Target intelligence / Profile preview
LYN encodes a member of the Src family of protein tyrosine kinases. It is primarily expressed in hematopoietic cells and plays a central role in regulating cell activation and signaling thresholds, especially within immune cells such as B lymphocytes. LYN exists as two main isoforms, LynA and LynB, due to alternative splicing. It is a potential therapeutic target for aggressive cancers and is also implicated in autoimmune diseases.
