MACC1 3' UTR overlapping transcript 1 (MACC1-OT1) is a long non-coding RNA derived from the region overlapping the 3' UTR of the MACC1 gene. While the MACC1 gene itself encodes a protein central to cancer metastasis and progression, MACC1-OT1 is thought to play a role in the post-transcriptional regulation of MACC1, possibly influencing cancer cell behavior through modulation of MACC1 protein levels or function.
