The MAGE-A1 peptide–HLA-C*07:02 complex consists of an antigenic peptide derived from the MAGE-A1 protein, a cancer/testis antigen widely expressed in various tumors, presented by the human leukocyte antigen HLA-C*07:02, an MHC class I molecule. This complex is recognized by the T cell receptor (TCR) on cytotoxic T lymphocytes, making it an important target in anti-cancer immunotherapies including engineered TCR and CAR T cell approaches. It also serves as a diagnostic reagent in the form of peptide–MHC multimers to identify and quantify antigen-specific T cells in patients. The specificity and safety profile depend on the precise peptide sequence bound to HLA-C*07:02 and careful exclusion of cross-reactivity to minimize risks in clinical settings.
