Matrix-remodeling associated 5 Y-linked (MXRA5Y), also known as ADLICANP and several other aliases, is a pseudogene found on the human Y chromosome. As a pseudogene, MXRA5Y does not encode a functional protein and therefore does not act as a therapeutic target, enzyme, receptor, or have known biological functions or disease associations in the current literature. Its parent gene, MXRA5, encodes an extracellular matrix protein with roles in tissue remodeling and various human diseases, but MXRA5Y itself is generally regarded as an inactive genomic sequence with no established physiological or pharmacological function[4][5][6][8][9].
