Target intelligence / Profile preview
Microtubules are essential components of the cytoskeleton involved in cell division, intracellular transport, and maintenance of cell shape. Paclitaxel and docetaxel bind to β-tubulin within assembled microtubules, stabilizing them and preventing depolymerization. This leads to mitotic arrest and apoptosis, making them effective anticancer agents.
Prevents microtubule depolymerization, leading to microtubule stabilization, mitotic arrest at G2/M phase, and induction of apoptosis.
