Target intelligence / Profile preview
Myosin regulatory light chain 2, atrial isoform (MYL7) is a regulatory light chain subunit of the myosin motor complex specifically enriched in atrial cardiac muscle. It enables calcium ion binding, is essential for cardiac muscle contractility, and participates in development and maintenance of cardiac myofibril structure. Mutations or dysregulation of MYL7 are implicated in congenital cardiovascular diseases such as hypoplastic left heart syndrome and heart septal defects[2][5][7].
