Overview

NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit A3 pseudogene 3 (NDUFA3P3) is a processed pseudogene related in sequence to the functional NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase subunit A3 gene. Like most pseudogenes, NDUFA3P3 does not encode a functional protein and is typically considered a nonfunctional genomic remnant. However, some pseudogenes have been implicated in regulating biological processes by producing regulatory RNAs or acting as decoys for microRNAs, thereby influencing gene expression. There is currently no evidence that NDUFA3P3 itself is a therapeutic target or a significant disease biomarker, nor is it known to interact with any drugs.
