NDUFB9P3 is a pseudogene corresponding to the subunit B9 of NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductase (mitochondrial complex I). Unlike the closely related and functional NDUFB9 gene, which codes for a structural subunit of mitochondrial complex I involved in oxidative phosphorylation, NDUFB9P3 does not produce a functional protein and is not implicated in mitochondrial activity, disease, or as a drug target[1]. NDUFB9P3 is not a receptor, enzyme, transporter, or valid drug target. It is a non-functional pseudogene, so it is not considered for therapeutic or biomarker use and does not have known implications in disease or pharmacology[1].
