Target intelligence / Profile preview
NDUFS5P2 is a human pseudogene known as NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) Fe-S protein 5, 15kDa (NADH-coenzyme Q reductase) pseudogene 2. It is a noncoding genomic sequence that has high similarity to the functional NDUFS5 gene, which encodes a protein subunit of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I. However, NDUFS5P2 itself does not produce a functional protein and is not involved in mitochondrial electron transport or any cellular biochemical pathway. There is no evidence supporting a role for NDUFS5P2 in disease, drug targeting, or any established biological function
