NAV2 antisense RNA 4 (NAV2-AS4) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the NAV2 gene. Antisense RNAs, including lncRNAs, regulate gene expression by forming complementary hybrids with protein-coding transcripts, affecting their stability or translation[1][5]. While NAV2 gene itself plays known roles in neurodevelopment and cancer cell migration[2], and other NAV2-related antisense RNAs (e.g., NAV2-AS2) have been studied in the context of cardiovascular disease[3], there are currently no published studies describing NAV2-AS4’s discrete biological or pathological functions, disease roles, or drug interactions. NAV2-AS4, as a member of antisense non-coding RNAs, may be implicated in regulatory networks at the transcriptome level, but requires further investigation before being classified as a therapeutic target or biomarker.
