Target intelligence / Profile preview
Nav2 intronic transcript 1 (NAV2-IT1) is a long non-coding RNA transcribed from an intronic region of the NAV2 gene. Unlike protein-coding NAV2, which encodes a protein important for neuronal development, NAV2-IT1 has not been formally characterized with respect to specific biological function, disease association, or drug interactions. Intronic transcripts like NAV2-IT1 may be involved in the regulation of gene expression and alternative splicing but are rarely established as direct therapeutic targets. NAV2-IT1 is distinct from NAV2, the protein-coding gene that has documented roles in neurodevelopment and cancer.
