Target intelligence / Profile preview
This molecule is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed antisense to the *BRWD1* gene. Antisense transcripts are widespread throughout the genome and can regulate expression of their sense counterparts through multiple mechanisms, including modulating chromatin states, transcription dynamics, transcript processing, and stability[1][3]. Specific natural antisense transcripts regulate sense gene expression, often in a context- and gene-specific manner, but there is no evidence that this particular transcript (ENSG00000297893) is itself a therapeutic target or has a known direct role in disease. Its function remains to be characterized, but as with other natural antisense RNAs, it may influence chromatin architecture or gene expression dynamics at the *BRWD1* locus[1][3].
