While antisense lncRNAs are widespread in mammalian genomes and have been shown to regulate gene expression through mechanisms such as chromatin modification, RNA processing, and mRNA stability, there is no direct experimental evidence that this specific transcript affects DPP6 or fulfills a regulatory function. Such transcripts are poorly characterized and are not considered validated therapeutic targets. Currently, ENSG00000298417 should be classified as an uncharacterized non-coding RNA, antisense to DPP6, with no established physiological, pathological, or pharmacological relevance.
