"Novel transcript, antisense to IFT74" (ENSG00000297562) is a long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) transcribed from the genomic region opposite to the IFT74 gene. As an antisense RNA, it may participate in regulating the expression of the sense IFT74 gene through mechanisms such as chromatin modification or by influencing transcription and RNA stability, as described for other natural antisense transcripts[1][3][5]. However, there is currently no evidence to support its function as a therapeutic target, nor any known drug interactions, specific disease roles, or biomarker status. This transcript is best understood as an example of a lncRNA with possible regulatory functions on local chromatin state and gene expression, rather than as a classic molecular target such as a receptor, enzyme, or transporter[2][3][5].
