Overview

The nuclear membrane in *Plasmodium* is a double-membrane structure separating the genetic material from the cytoplasm. It regulates nucleocytoplasmic transport via nuclear pore complexes (NPCs) and plays a role in gene expression. *Plasmodium* exhibits closed mitosis, maintaining an intact nuclear envelope throughout cell division. Components of the LINC complex are also crucial for linking processes inside and outside the nucleus. Disrupting NPC function or LINC complex integrity could impair parasite replication, making it a potential drug target.
