Oxoglutarate dehydrogenase-like (OGDHL) is a mitochondrial enzyme and isoform of the 2-oxoglutarate dehydrogenase complex, which catalyzes a rate-limiting step in the tricarboxylic acid (TCA) cycle, essential for cellular energy production through glucose and glutamate metabolism. OGDHL acts as a tumor suppressor, modulates the AKT and potentially NF-κB signaling pathways, and is implicated in cancer prognosis, immune regulation, epithelial-mesenchymal transition, and myocardial fibrosis. It exists as multiple isoforms, is a protein-coding gene localized to mitochondria, and is considered a diagnostic and prognostic biomarker in oncology and cardiology[1][2][3][4].
