Pseudogenes like PLA2G10BP typically do not encode active enzymes or receptors and lack classical biological functions, although some pseudogenes can exert regulatory effects through RNA transcripts or genomic influence. There is no direct therapeutic relevance, disease association, or involvement in drug response established for PLA2G10BP. Functional phospholipase A2 (especially secreted forms such as group V and X) play important roles in inflammation, lipid metabolism, host defense, and cardiovascular disease, but these roles do not extend to their pseudogenes.
