Poly(A) binding protein cytoplasmic 1 pseudogene 8 (PABPC1P8) is a human genomic pseudogene homologous to the functional poly(A) binding protein cytoplasmic 1 (PABPC1). Pseudogenes are nonfunctional DNA segments that resemble genes but do not code for functional proteins due to accumulated mutations, truncations, or lack of necessary regulatory elements.
