PAPD7 (Poly(A) RNA polymerase D7) is a noncanonical poly(A) polymerase involved in RNA maturation, stability, and degradation. It adds adenine residues to the 3' ends of RNA molecules independently of specific sequence signals. It plays a role in RNA quality control and viral RNA stabilization, particularly in hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection, making it a potential target for antiviral drug development.
