Polymerase (DNA directed), epsilon 2, accessory subunit (POLE2) pseudogene is a non-functional genetic element located on human chromosome 8. It is homologous to the functional POLE2 gene, which encodes a subunit of the DNA polymerase epsilon complex involved in DNA replication and repair. As a pseudogene, it does not encode a protein and lacks therapeutic, biological, or pathological relevance. Pseudogenes like this may arise from duplication or retrotransposition events and generally lack promoters or other elements necessary for protein expression
