The Polymerase (RNA) II (DNA-directed) polypeptide E, 25kDa pseudogene (ENSG00000255210) is a non-coding genomic element in humans that is homologous to the POLR2E gene, which encodes a subunit essential for eukaryotic RNA polymerases I, II, and III, responsible for synthesizing messenger RNA and various other RNAs[1][7][16][13]. As a pseudogene, it does not produce a functional protein due to accumulated mutations, such as frameshifts or premature stop codons. Pseudogenes like this are typically considered non-functional "genomic fossils"[9][12], but a minority may have regulatory roles at the RNA level[3][15]. There is no evidence that ENSG00000255210 has a disease association, therapeutic relevance, or biomarker utility.
