Overview

POM121 transmembrane nucleoporin like 1, pseudogene (POM121L1P) is classified as an unprocessed pseudogene in humans[2][8][7]. It is homologous to the POM121 family, which encodes components of the nuclear pore complex, but POM121L1P itself is not believed to encode a functional protein. It is located on human chromosome 22 and has high sequence similarity to other chromosomal regions involving POM121 and related long noncoding RNAs, but, as a pseudogene, it is not known to possess any established biological function, gene product, or disease association[2][8][3][7]. No evidence supports its role as a therapeutic target or molecular biomarker, or its direct involvement in drug interaction, cellular function, or disease pathways.
